There are no regular meetings in the summer. Summer is time for all the get-out-of-town trips. Once crew has already completed the Scuba Diving program at Sea Base. Two more crews will be going this summer. The younger scouts will be going to Camp Daniel Boone in North Carolina. Check back at the end of August for the regular weekly meetings and the fall camping schedule. |
Hello, There were a few questions at our last meeting about summer camp, I think this covers them. I looked through the Camp Daniel Boone Leader's Guide and the following merit badges have some pre-req's Electricity 2 & 9a, 8 to be done outside of camp First Aid (new scouts) 2b-bring a first aid kit to camp. Dave says that they sell one at camp for about $5 These had fees attached: Archery $5 Horsemanship $40 Rifle $10 Basketry $8-15 Indian Lore $7-12 Space Exploration $8-15 You can to www.campdanielboone.org to see the camp layout, menus, list for packing, what the "Going Great program" is (new scouts), and the address if you want to send a care package-send it the day or two before they leave if you want them to receive it while they are actually at camp.
